Chepstow Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway's picks for a £100,000 guaranteed pool

The Placepot pool is a guaranteed £100,000 at Chepstow and that gets my attention.

Faustinovick is consistent over fences and always appeals as a good Placepot horse. Put him in the opening 2m7½f conditional jockeys’ handicap chase (12.52) along with Easy Bucks.

There are some smart prospects in division one of the 2m maiden hurdle (1.22) and maybe none better than two-time bumper winner Ernest Gray. He rates banker material.

Paul Nicholls might hold the key to the second division (1.52) with Tahmuras. He won a Wincanton bumper well when last seen in March and can make a winning start over hurdles.

Nicholls has another strong contender in the following 2m3½f maiden hurdle (2.22) in the shape of Knowsley Road. He was a bumper winner here in March and rates another banker.

Only six line up for the 2m novice handicap chase (2.52), but it’s an open race. The three who have had a recent run are the ones to focus on, with preference for Dibble Decker and Calico.

The 2m7½f handicap hurdle (3.22) is the last leg and in-form favourite Camembert Electric must be included. However, she can throw in the odd bad run so take insurance on Astra Via.
