Chepstow Placepot picks: Paul Kealy's perm for a competitive card

ought to take a fair bit of beating in the opener (1.20) at Chepstow now she drops down in class and trip.

She's run over as far as 3m behind Blazing Khal (didn't stay), but certainly has pace and this is obviously weaker, so she can be banked on for Placepot purposes.

Similarly, has much the best form at the weights in the next (1.55), so I'll be banking on him, too.

The rest of the races are much tougher, though, starting with leg three (2.25), in which is the main bet back on reasonable ground.

He's joined by , who made a meal out of winning at odds of 1-9 last time, but is really consistent with ten top-two finishes in 14 starts.

The next (3.00) is tougher still, but we'll go with , who didn't appear to get home in the mud when last seen, but whose stable is going really well now, and .

The latter was a commanding winner on his second chase start at Exeter, and is arguably the one to beat on that form.

I give a big chance to veteran in the fifth leg (3.30), but this is probably the toughest race of all, so we'll add , who can go well fresh, and the long-absent , who is well treated if fit and has won off a layoff before, if not one as long as this.

That just leaves the last (4.00) and favourite is solid, while could be nicely treated on his handicap debut.
