Only five horses have managed to win a handicap chase in Britain off a mark higher than 160 since 2012, so Kalashnikov will be in rare company if he manages to achieve that feat in the Paddy Power Handicap Chase (2.00) at Cheltenham.

You wouldn't put it past him as he has always had a touch of class and is very consistent, but a 6lb rise for his second at Newbury demands a huge career best and it's hard to make a strong case for backing him as favourite in what is a warm contest.
