Catterick Placepot picks: Richard Birch marks your card for the jumps meeting

Shoughall’s Boy, an improving young hurdler with plenty more to give off a mark of 90, rates banker material in Catterick’s 2m3½f handicap hurdle (1.00), the first leg of the Placepot.

He receives weight from all of his rivals, and is a strong fancy to complete a hat-trick.

Can You Call, who looks fairly treated now on a rating of 118, could give likely favourite Just Call Me Al plenty to think about in the 2m3f novice handicap chase (1.30).

The form of Miss Fairfax’s Exeter win received a significant boost when the runner-up Eureka Creek bolted up at Ffos Las last Thursday.

Bank on Hughie Morrison’s six-year-old as she bids to follow up that victory in the mares’ novice hurdle (2.05).

First Impression looks primed to exploit a mark of 125 in the 1m7½f handicap hurdle (2.40), while the novice Winds Of Fire, who scuppered his chance with a couple of uncharacteristic mistakes at Ascot, and Omar Maretti are the pair to focus on in the 3m1f handicap chase (3.15).

Stroll On By, the mount of Brian Hughes, and the Jamie Snowden-trained You Wear It Well, stand out in the concluding bumper (3.50).
