Carrigeen Acebo defies maximum in 50-1 shock

Twiss's Hill and Girly Girl (hit 1.71) had the race between them when pulling clear in the straight and, when Girly Girl fell two out, Twiss's Hill needed only to jump the last for an easy victory. However, she took a crashing fall after more than £1,000 had been matched at a low of 1.02.

That appeared to have let distant second Misty Lady in for the win and she was matched at 1.02. But she tied up badly near the line and was caught close home by 50-1 outsider Carrigeen Acebo, who had been matched for £117 at the maximum 1,000.
