They say expectation is the barometer of success. I don't expect to make it to 88 years of age so, if I do, you can expect there will be a good old party. I'll count myself lucky if I'm still able to put on my own socks if I get to 88, but Kevin Prendergast is clearly cut from different stuff as he is showing no signs of slowing down.

No doubt Prendergast will have an extra pep in his step after the performance of Mehnah in the 1,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown last weekend. She looks a genuine Classic contender for the legend of Friarstown, who also has a couple of solid chances at Dundalk on Sunday.
