Both Sides gamble foiled by Zamperini

>>Both Sides went off a heavily backed 9-4 favourite for the 1m2f handicap at Sandown, but those who followed the money endured an agonising run after the market leader found trouble and couldn’t get a clear run. He was backed to 2.06 in-running on Betfair, but finished a never-nearer third.

The favourite’s misfortune let in Zamperini to score a last-gasp 10-1 success after trading at 18.5, while runner-up Scrutinise let down supporters at a low of 1.2.

>>Veneaux Du Cochet traded at 120 on his way to springing a 25-1 surprise in the 3m2½f handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot.
