Beverley Placepot picks: Graeme Rodway selects his perm at the Yorkshire track

A couple of my big fancies run at Beverley, so it makes sense to play the Placepot there.

The opening 1m2f amateur jockeys’ handicap (1.40) has attracted a big field and course form points to Termonator and Bit Of A Quirke, who handle quick ground and like it at Beverley.

The 5f fillies’ novice (2.10) looks a hot little contest. Mrs U S A was a big eyecatcher when a staying-on second at Lingfield last month and rates a banker provided eight line up.

Division one of the 5f handicap (2.40) comes up next and Arnold shaped as though he was running into form when fourth at Hamilton last time. Excessable is well handicapped and next best.

The second division (3.10) is another open race. Primo stayed on well to win over course and distance last time and rates a solid selection. However, Gorgeous General should also go in.

Red Verdon has dropped to a handy mark in the 2m handicap (3.40) and should go well. Only two places are on offer, though, so Midrarr is included on his second run after wind surgery.

The 7½f nursery (4.10) is the last leg and Fomo appears to have a good chance after finishing third at Pontefract last time. West By East is also promising and capable of better.
