Ayr Placepot picks: Dave Randall with three bankers on the Monday card

Only two places are available in three of the six races which make up the Placepot at Ayr and that will help to whittle down the amount of winning tickets.

Gincident is one of my two main tipping selections on the day and he is relied on to reach the first two in the opening 5f juvenile maiden (1.45). He ran well on his debut at Pontefract this month.

The Class 6 6f handicap (2.15) is a modest affair but Unashamed and Dick Datchery are capable of reaching the first three.

Briardale has won when fresh and should go well from a low draw in the 1m2f handicap (2.50). Life On The Rocks is added for ballast in a trappy contest.

Soldier's Minute and Call Me Ginger have strong course-and-distance form to reach the first two in the feature 6f handicap (3.25).

Head Chef is the second of my two main tipping selections on the day, and he too is relied on to reach the first two in the 7f three-year-old maiden handicap (4.00).

Three places are available in the mile three-year-old-plus maiden (4.30) which concludes the perm, and it would be disappointing if the William Haggas-trained Post Impressionist couldn't reach the first three after such a promising debut second at Nottingham this month.
