This good-looking type by Poet’s Voice did not have to improve to take this prize. He is lightly raced and has benefited from a patient campaign, but I am sure he will now be busy and could take in the Canadian International.

The grand-looking Second Step has run consistently well since joining Roger Charlton’s yard and the Cumberland Lodge at the end of the season might be right up his street.

Scarlet Dragon looked fit but perhaps a touch light.

The disappointing horse was Lord Yeats, who did not look comfortable at any stage.
