CATTERICK
Italian Riviera (4.45) was a fast-finishing second at Thirsk last time out and this 2m handicap looks a good opportunity for him to go one better.

The eight-year-old has been a money-spinner since joining Kenneth Slack last September and looked set for further success two weeks ago, having a lot to do in the closing stages but only failing by half a length. He has a good record at this track and is still on a workable mark.

Jack Blane (5.15) made a promising start to life at Keith Dalgleish’s yard last week and can strike in the finale.

The three-year-old won just one of eight starts for Daniel Kubler but his new trainer fitted cheekpieces at Ayr last Monday and that sparked a better effort as he lost out by just a neck, with a gap back to the rest. A repeat performance would give him every chance.

Mango Chutney (4.15) has been making steady progress this summer and may be able to take another step forward in the 7f handicap. John Davies’s four-year-old got back to winning ways at Wetherby in June and looked better than ever at Thirsk last time out. He did well to overcome trouble in running and the handicapper probably hasn’t caught up with him.

NOTTINGHAM
Curious Fox (6.35) has already won twice this summer and can add another victory in the 6f fillies’ handicap.

The Anthony Carson-trained four-year-old struck at Lingfield in May and looked better than ever when overcoming a tardy start at Newmarket last time.

That was her third win from three starts under David Probert so it is a positive that he retains the ride and the forecast good to soft ground will be ideal.

LEICESTER
Move To The Front (3.30) has shown sparks of potential in his brief career and can open his account now that he moves into nursery company for the first time.

He was down the pack on his debut but improved when blinkers were added, especially at Brighton in June when he plugged on for fourth behind Royal Liberty despite suffering some trouble in running.

This step up to 7f can help him pull out a bit more.

CHELMSFORD
Estrella Eria (8.20) flopped on turf last time out but she had previously been in great form on sand, winning four consecutive races over this course and distance.

George Peckham’s four-year-old kicked off her winning spree in September and continued to defy the handicapper, producing another career-best here in April.

This 6lb higher mark is well within her capabilities if she is back to that sort of level after a short break.
