The opening 2m3½f novice chase is arguably the race of the day at Punchestown and, although he has been off the track for 226 days, Gracchus De Balme interests me on his chasing debut for Joseph O'Brien.

The French-bred six-year-old found only the now 145-rated chaser Ash Tree Meadow too good in a 2m4f maiden hurdle at Navan in January, before beating subsequent Listed winner Plains Indian over 2m on heavy ground at Clonmel.
