Admirable Our Lord can gain fifth win of the season at Salisbury
Our Lord
3.35 Salisbury
Our Lord has been in tremendous form of late and is fancied to land his fifth win of the season.
Michael Attwater’s game five-year-old started his winning spree with a convincing three-length victory over 5f at this course in July and followed up in a couple of apprentice handicaps over a half-furlong further at Bath.
The winning run was halted at Sandown, but he bounced back in a much better race back at Bath. Although the winning margin was narrow, he never looked in danger once in front and showed a willing attitude when challenged.
He hasn’t been stopping in those races, suggesting this longer trip will be fine for him, and he still looks fairly treated after just a 3lb rise.
Almoreb
4.10 Salisbury
This is a trappy five-runner handicap, but Richard Hannon’s progressive Almoreb can find enough improvement on his first attempt at the trip.
The three-year-old stayed on nicely in a decent mile handicap at Sandown on his latest run but was just too far back to land a blow.
Prior to that he had overcome an interrupted passage to get up to dead-heat at Chelmsford, showing plenty of resolution and talent.
Almoreb landed his maiden at Newbury on his only start on soft ground and may also be suited by the return to this surface.
Incredible Dream
4.40 Salisbury
Incredible Dream comes here after a career-best performance and is fancied to prove too strong for his rivals.
Dean Ivory’s four-year-old was a late starter – this is his first season on the track – and it took a few starts on the all-weather before he won on his turf debut in a handicap at Nottingham.
Although disappointing shortly after, he has improved since a short break, culminating in another win at Chepstow last time. Outpaced and driven along turning for home, he stayed on strongly to forge away.
A 6lb rise looks fair given the strength of the form – the second went one better next time – and he should be suited by this long home straight, with an extra quarter-mile also playing to his strengths and soft ground in his favour.
Mooltazem
4.30 Nottingham
John Gosden has found a good opportunity for the lightly raced Mooltazem to open his account in handicaps off a mark of 78.
John Gosden’s three-year-old showed debut promise when sixth in a Yarmouth maiden in April and duly scored at 1-2 at Ripon next time.
He had to work hard to land the odds as he was harried inside the final furlong, but he eventually won with something to spare, with the first two well clear, and it proved to be a decent race with the second and third both winning subsequently.
He has since run just once in a handicap and things didn’t go to plan at Chelmsford as he suffered interference leaving the stalls and was always on the back foot, having to wait longer than ideal to mount a challenge and staying on for third.
The form is still decent, though, with the fourth and fifth winning since, and Mooltazem should now be more streetwise.
