25-1 Pomme De Terre to bounce back on ground he relishes
Back in July Pomme De Terre beat Intisaab and today’s opponent Escalating pretty easily at York on soft ground and if he can repeat that level of form from only a 2lb higher mark in the ROA/Racing Post Owners’ Jackpot Handicap (3.50) at Ayr, he will go close at a big price.
That is a big ’if’ because he has not shown much at all since but he hasn’t had the soft ground he relishes and he had no chance from a dire draw at Doncaster on his latest start. Prior to that he wasn’t far behind the favourite Tiger Jim at Haydock and at 25-1, Pomme De Terre looks well overpriced.
1pt win at 25-1
