Vedevani sale sets new record for online auction facility
Bought by the Chantilly Bloodstock Agency on behalf of Khlifa Al Kuwari
Vedevani set a new record for Arqana's online auction facility when selling to the Chantilly Bloodstock Agency on behalf of Khalifa Al Kuwari for €800,000.
Offered by his owner-breeder the Aga Khan, the three-year-old son of Dubawi had won one race for Alain De Royer-Dupre and was last seen running in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on Sunday when he set the pace for Harzand.
Vedevani attracted 47 bids from eight individual buyers and extra time, which guaranteed all bidders 20 minutes to place a bid, was activated 23 times before the sale finished an hour and a half later than planned.
