Siblings to Altior and Faugheen among brilliant Derby Sale line-up
Siblings to a number of elite jumps performers feature in the catalogue for this year's Tattersalls Ireland Derby Store Sale.
A total of 466 lots are catalogued for the two-day sale, which takes place on June 27-28, starting at 10.30am each day.
Among the exciting lots on offer is a son of Milan closely related to this year's Queen Mother Champion Chase scorer Altior (Lot 462), offered by John Dwan's Ballyreddin Stud, who purchased him as a foal for €40,000.
As well as Altior - who is part of an exclusive group to have won three different Group 1s at the Cheltenham Festival - the Key Of Luck mare Monte Solaro has produced Grade B-winning hurdler Princess Leya.
Also whetting the appetite for his year's sale is a Shirocco half-brother to Punchestown Champion Stayers Hurdle winner Faugheen (459).
The nine-time Grade 1 winner also won the 2015 Champion Hurdle and recorded a career-high Racing Post Rating of 177 for his win in the 2016 Irish Champion Hurdle.
Greenville House Stud consign a Pour Moi half-brother to Shattered Love (149), who became the second Cheltenham Festival winner produced by her dam, the Bustino mare Tracker, when winning the JLT Novices' Chase at this year's meeting. The mare has also been responsible for Irish Cavalier, who won the Listed novices' handicap chase at the 2015 renewal.
This year's Champion Bumper heroine Relegate, meanwhile, will see a full-brother (418) offered by Glenwood Stud. The Flemensfirth mare was one of four top-flight winners for her sire in the latest season, the others being Poetic Rhythm, Tornado Flyer and Waiting Patiently.
Other sires with lots on offer include Kayf Tara, Midnight Legend, Oscar, Presenting, Shantou and Walk In The Park.
All horses catalogued in the Derby Sale are eligible for the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper in 2019.
The 2018 renewal of the race went to the Noel Meade-trained Pat's Pick, who was sold by Kieran Lennon's Springhill Stud to Kevin Ross for €62,000 at last year's sale.
