Tattersalls has appointed Rob Skeggs as its new finance director, with him joining the Newmarket-based firm on April 10.

Skeggs will succeed long-serving finance director Paul Ryan who retires on June 30.

Skeggs will join Tattersalls after seven years as finance director of the Levy Board, preceded by a number of senior finance roles including group financial controller for the Tote.

Skeggs said: "I'm enormously looking forward to my new role as Tattersalls finance director and to joining a company which combines a rich and illustrious history with a reputation for utmost integrity."

Edmond Mahony, chairman of Tattersalls, added: "Paul Ryan has done an outstanding job as finance director for Tattersalls since 2001 and at the same time as wishing him well on his forthcoming retirement, we look forward to welcoming Rob Skeggs to Tattersalls.

"Rob brings with him a deep understanding of the industry and a wealth of experience, most recently as finance director for the Levy Board, and he will be a valuable addition to the Tattersalls board."
