A memorable edition of the Tattersalls October Sale came to a close in Newmarket on Friday following two weeks of competitive trade that yielded a record turnover.

Tattersalls sold 132,705,800gns worth of yearlings over the course of Books 1 to 3 to post a figure that hit a record mark for the fifth consecutive year.

The average and median also posted significant gains of 19 per cent and 30 per cent to 101,612gns and 52,000gns.
