Protectionist cover to be sold in aid of injured Tylicki
Nomination made available by Australian Bloodstock
German Bloodstocksales house BBAG are to auction a 2017 nomination to first-season sire Protectionist, with all proceeds generated by the auction to be donated to the injured jockey Freddy Tylicki.
Bids will be accepted online at www.bbag-sales.de from 12am local time (1pm GMT) on November 16, with the auction due to close at 5pm local time (6pm GMT) on November 18.
The nomination has been made available by Protectionist's owners Australian Bloodstock, explained their German representative Ronald Rauscher.
Protectionist, a six-year-old son of Monsun, won twice at Group 1 level, with his most memorable success coming in the 2014 renewal of the Melbourne Cup.
He has retired to stand at Gestut Rottgen where his initial fee has been set at €6,500.
Tylicki, who sustained his injuries in a four-horse pile-up at Kempton, has already received over £275,000 in donations sent to the GoFundMe page established by At The Races presenter Matt Chapman.
The page was closed on Wednesday but donations can still be made through the Injured Jockeys Fund website, while Tylicki's family are in the process of setting up a charitable trust for the donated funds.
