Tattersalls Ireland will reorganise its store sale offering in 2018, which will include the introduction of a two-day select store sale in May.

The Derby Sale will revert to its original two-day format, no longer with a second part, while the August Sale will continue as a two-day sale.

All lots catalogued in these sales will also be eligible to run in the George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival the following year.

Roger Casey, managing director of Tattersalls Ireland, said: "During the course of each spring the bloodstock team here spend valuable time liaising with vendors and purchasers when they are inspecting stock and attending race meetings and point-to-points.

"One of the clear messages that we have been receiving from our clients is that they would like an early opportunity to trade store horses at Tattersalls Ireland.

"It would be remiss of us not to listen to the market feedback and as a result we are delighted to announce these changes to our store sale offering in 2018.

"This exciting new sale in May will perfectly complement our existing suite of store sales, with our flagship Derby Sale reverting to being held over two days in June and the August Sale maintaining its traditional position in 2018."
