Third renewal of the auction say opinions divided on strength of trade

They say what goes up must come down, and after the fireworks of the Goffs UK Premier Sale it was back down to earth with a rather low-key day of trade during the third renewal of the Silver Sale in Doncaster on Thursday.

Opinions seemed divided between buyers and vendors as to the strength of trade, but declines across all the key indicators of market health point to the selective nature of the market at present.

Federico Barberini signed for the day's top lot, a daughter of Monsieur Bond who fetched £46,000.
