Haras du Mezeray feeling blessed after Maurice de Gheest
French nursery to consign two lots which now boast notable updates
Signs Of Blessing, the all-the-way winner of Sunday's Prix Maurice de Gheest, could well be about to prove himself aptly named, with his Group 1 breakthrough coming at the perfect time for Haras du Mezeray, the stud at which he was born and raised.
His victory on Sunday means two of the lots Mezeray will consign at the upcoming Arqana August Yearling Sale now head to the ring with a significant update. Lot 129, an Invincible Spirit filly out of Sun Bittern boasts the biggest update, being a sister to the Group 1 hero, while lot 247, a Lawman filly out of Lucrece, who was the first foal produced by Sun Bittern, now holds significantly greater commercial appeal.
Mezeray's Philippe Brosset reflected on Sunday's success, saying: “Signs Of Blessing has always been highly rated by Francois Rohaut, from day one he always thought he was a Group 1 horse.
