Five foals to watch out for at this year's November Sale
Zoe Vicarage with the lots at the auction who demand a closer look
Lot 541 bay filly Galileo-Inca Princess (Holy Roman Emperor)
Consigned by The Castlebridge Consignment
This filly is sure to cause a stir when she's the third lot through the ring on Wednesday, as not only is she by perennial champion sire Galileo but is a sister to Group 1 winner Johannes Vermeer.
Johannes Vermeer's exploits in Australia, where he finished second in the Melbourne Cup earlier this month, has kept her family relevant ahead of her date in the ring. A January foal, she is also a sister to Group 2 winner Elizabeth Browning who sold for 700,000gns at last month's Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale.
The filly has racing appeal and as a potential broodmare prospect when the time comes, so expect there to be plenty of interest from all the big players in her.
Lot 559 bay filly Invincible Spirit-Lulawin (Kyllachy)
Consigned by Lisieux Stud
Only one chance to buy a foal by Irish National Stud flagbearer Invincible Spirit at Goffs this week, after the withdrawal of the sister to Shalaa, and it is one with plenty of appeal on the distaff side of the pedigree too.
The filly from Lisieux Stud is a half-sister to Railway Stakes winner Painted Cliffs out of a half-sister to top-class miler Excellent Art.
Her two-year-old half-brother Excelleration is unraced but is in training with James Fanshawe.
Lot 569 bay colt Galileo-Melito (Redoute's Choice)
Consigned by The Castlebridge Consignment
Another foal by Galileo to take the eye at Goffs is this colt out of the dual Group 1-winning Australian mare Melito.
Her five career victories included the TJ Smith Stakes and the Winter Stakes over sprint distances which has proved a winning combination with the son of Sadler's Wells before. This year's 2,000 Guineas hero Churchill is out of a 5f winner, while multiple Group 1 scorer Winter is out of the dual 6f winner Laddies Poker Two.
A daughter of Redoute's Choice, Melito has produced two winners including Campbell Junior and her pedigree also features Australian performers Pariah and You're So Good.
Lot 589 bay colt Golden Horn-New Morning (Sadler's Wells)
Consigned by Grenane House Stud
This week heralds the first foals by Derby and Arc hero Golden Horn going under the hammer and the Dalham Hall resident has four catalogued to go under the hammer at Goffs.
They include this colt out of the Group 3-winning Sadler's Wells mare New Morning, the dam of winners Winterlude and Mighty Ambition.
He boasts a regal pedigree as New Morning is herself a sister to champion mare Islington, Group 1 hero Greek Dance and to Listed winner Election Day.
With the end of an era nearly upon us as the final stock from the historic Ballymacoll Stud sells in the coming weeks, this colt gives breeders the chance to buy into their famous bloodlines.
Lot 650 bay colt Dark Angel-Thawrah (Green Desert)
Consigned by Rossenarra Stud
After a season in which he supplied three new winners at the highest level, those offering progeny by Dark Angel this week will be expecting they sell like hotcakes.
The Yeomanstown Stud resident only has four lots catalogued to go under the hammer including a brother to Group 3 winner Heeraat. Standing at Mickley Stud, Heeraat's first yearlings went under the hammer this autumn and were well received by the market.
The colt is also a half-brother to dual Listed scorer Ambiance and to the winners Dance Every Dance and Manshood, while further back his pedigree features the top-level winner Malhub.
