Dawn Approach returned the best average price of all new sires with more than one lot sold at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale at Doncaster this week.

The four-time Group 1 winner had two sons on offer – a half-brother to Listed winner Earl Of Leitrim knocked down to John and Jake Warren for £110,000 and a colt out of a winning daughter of Invincible Spirit and Group 1-placed Littlefeather sold to Oliver St Lawrence for £58,000.

The Warrens' purchase represented a decent return on Dawn Approach's €35,000 covering fee, although the other colt had already been knocked down for €70,000 as a foal at Goffs last year.
