Anticipation for European sales season hotting up in Deauville

Arqana's August Yearling Sale starts in the glamorous seaside town of Deauville on Sunday, and with the sun beating down on the sales ground as inspections took place on Friday anticipation for the European sales season was hotting up among the British contingent of vendors who have made the trip across the Channel.

Hertfordshire-based Newsells Park Stud were one such consignor, and general manager Julian Dollar explained the draw of bringing yearlings to sell in France. “We're owned by the Jacobs family who have always wanted to sell horses throughout the continent.

“We've also had quite a lot of success at Arqana, in terms of sales and what the horses have gone on to do on the track,” said Dollar.
