The Racing Post website contains a wealth of stallion statistics that reveal who’s hot and who’s not among the sire ranks. Here we pick out the leaders from a range of different metrics from the last year of Flat racing action.

Number of winners-to-runners
No stallion out there supplied more individual winners in 2022 than the redoubtable Yeomanstown Stud stalwart Dark Angel, whose 288 runners yielded a chart-topping 134 winners. Three of those ran to a Racing Post Rating (RPR) of over 120 in 2022, including Alflaila, whose four successes this campaign culminated with victory in the Group 3 Darley Stakes.

Coincidentally, his highest-rated runner this season, Real World, didn’t actually win in Britain or Ireland but did land the Group 2 Zabeel Mile at Meydan and later hit a mark of 125 when a length and three-quarters behind Baaeed in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes.
