Winners galore among pointers and bumper horses at Tattersalls Cheltenham sale
Envoi Allen, Shishkin and Monkfish among the star graduates flying the flag
Buyers will be combing the grounds and the sales ring at Park Paddocks in Newmarket on Friday in the hope of landing on the next Envoi Allen, Shiskhin or Monkfish.
They are just three current star Tattersalls Cheltenham graduates, with the company's April Sale getting under way at 1pm.
Sir Gerhard, Chantry House and Belfast Banter - like Monkfish and Shishkin winners at last month’s Cheltenham Festival, with Chantry House and Belfast Banter following up in Grade 1s at Aintree - are also Tattersalls Cheltenham alumni.
As of Thursday afternoon, following withdrawals, around 35 lots were set to be offered, comprised of numerous winning and placed pointers and bumper horses.
Monbeg Stables’ draft is nine-strong, with one of the standouts being four-year-old American Mike (lot 8), a 20-length winner of his maiden point-to-point at Cork this month for Sean Doyle. He was a €20,000 recruit from last year’s Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale.
Also on the Monbeg team is Ash Tree Meadow (21), consigned by Sean’s brother Donnchadh. The five-year-old was likewise an easy winner of his point, in his case by 12 lengths of a maiden at Fairyhouse last week, having been bought by his current owners for €30,000 at the 2019 Goffs Land Rover Sale.
Another Doyle brother, Cormac, also has a couple on the team, with four-year-old Fancy Stuff (26) having scored at Fairyhouse on Sunday.
Francesca Nimmo also offers a couple for sale, including Dondiam (35), winner last week of a maiden at Chaddesley Corbett. The four-year-old is a £30,000 store.
Horses are available to view at Park Paddocks from 1pm on Thursday, and from 8am on Friday.
Pre-sale veterinary certificates and race replays can be viewed on the Tattersalls Cheltenham website.
