Wildenstein family influence on the up within jumps breeding
Stallion pair Nickname and No Risk At All firing in Graded winners
The Wildenstein family's association with the sport was a colourful one underpinned by a regular flow of champions, ranging from the brilliant Peintre Celebre to the iconic stayer Buckskin and outstanding fillies All Along and Allez France.
Lesser heralded at the time of their dispersal at Goffs in late 2016 was the influence of the name within jumps racing, something that has come to the fore repeatedly this season through the achievements of Nickname and No Risk At All, both of whom were bred by Sylvia Wildenstein - widow of Daniel - out of the Simply Great mare Newness.
Nickname's reputation has been built upon three medium-sized crops bred during his short spell at Haras de Victot. Each of them has yielded a high-class performer, notably that final crop of 55 which contains two of Paul Nicholls' current stars in Cyrname - who was particularly impressive in victory in Saturday's Betfair Ascot Chase - and Frodon, all of which makes his early death at the age of 12 in 2011 that more regrettable.
