Wildcard entries to note at the Tattersalls Cheltenham April Sale
The auction gets under way at Prestbury Park from 1pm on Friday
Lot 55
Getupearly
Getaway - Come The Dawn (Gunner B)
Dower House Stables
The five-year-old son of Getaway struck on his second point-to-point start at Ballyknock for Matt Collins and has plenty to recommend him on his pedigree too, being a half-brother to Swinton Hurdle winner War Sound.
Not only that, the Dower House Stables-consigned gelding can also count Punchestown Gold Cup hero Planet Of Sound and Listed chase winner From Dawn To Dusk among his relations, the pair named under his second dam, the unraced Herald The Dawn, alongside Grade 2-placed novice hurdler Three Scholars.
His dam, Come The Dawn, has also produced the winning hurdler Allbarkanobite, while she has a three-year-old gelding by Yorgunnabelucky.
Lot 58
Man At Work
Workforce - Shokalocka Baby (Accordion)
Crossgales Stables
A final-fence faller when in contention in a red-hot maiden at Lingstown last month, Man At Work has plenty of form to recommend him to buyers at Cheltenham.
Three subsequent winners have already emerged from the race, including Look To The West, who impressed at Dromahane but was well behind this son of the 2010 Derby winner.
The four-year-old is out of the winning point-to-point mare Shokalocka Baby, who is the dam of two winners in Timeforben and Timetoroe, while under the third dam is Fairyhouse Grade 1 winner Bitofapuzzle and Sidney Banks Memorial Novices' Hurdle scorer Golden Gael.
Lot 65
Good Boy
Diamond Boy - Maralypha (Louveteau)
G&T Racing
Diamond Boy has enjoyed an excellent season, especially thanks to his Brown Advisory Novices' Chase and Scilly Isles Novices' Chase winner L'Homme Presse, and the Kilbarry Lodge Stud resident may have more to look forward to with this well-bred four-year-old.
Good Boy won his sole point start at Sandon last Saturday and it also does not hurt that he is a half-brother to Eden Du Houx, who landed a Listed bumper at Ascot and is also a winner over hurdles and fences.
The pair are related to Grade 3-winning Italian hurdler Dom Lyphard and Auteuil Listed hurdle scorer Colleville, the duo coming under the third and fourth dams respectively.
Lot 66
Carrigmoorna Rowan
Sea Moon - Carrigmoorna Fame (Fame And Glory)
Lisroe Farm
A 16-length winner of his second point-to-point at Dromahane for Declan Queally, Carrigmoorna Rowan's form could not have worked out any better with two subsequent winners emerging, including Stradbally eyecatcher El Muchacho.
It would be a surprise if the son of Sea Moon was not among the thick of the action at Prestbury Park.
His dam, the unraced Fame And Glory mare Carrigmoorna Fame, is out of a full-sister to National Spirit Hurdle and Coral Cup winner William Henry in the Grade 3-placed Sesenta, herself the dam of the winning and Listed-placed bumper performer Hi Stranger, who is also by Sea Moon.
Also on the page is Strangely Brown, winner of the Grade 1 Prix Alain Du Breil and Grade 2 Cashmans Juvenile Hurdle among five successes over hurdles.
