A number of well-bred newcomers are set to make their debuts on either side of the English Channel on Saturday.

In fact, three siblings to Group 1 winners have been declared for the Prix du Rond du Manege on the all-weather track at Chantilly (12.45 local time/11.45 GMT), a mile maiden for unraced three-year-olds.

La Vespiere, trained by Pia Brandt for owner-breeder Gerard Augustin-Normand, is an Air Chief Marshal sister to Mont Ormel, who won the Grand Prix de Paris in 2016 for the same connections and was later a useful performer for John Moore in Hong Kong under the name Helene Charisma.

La Vespiere is also a half-sister to last year's Park Express Stakes winner Normandel out of Lidana, a winning King's Best half-sister to the versatile Linngari, a Pattern winner over six to ten furlongs as an older horse.

Porcelaine, to be saddled by Fabrice Chappet for Cotton House Bloodstock, is a Kodiac half-sister to Precieuse, sent out by the trainer to win the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches in 2017 with the likes of Roly Poly and Senga behind.

Porcelaine was bred by Knocktoran Stud out of Zut Alors, a Listed-placed Pivotal half-sister to high-class pair Royal Empire and Scottish who has also produced smart sprint handicapper Baccarat and Group 3-placed Peut Etre.

The third sibling to a Group 1 winner in the race is Princesse Ilia, a Charm Spirit half-sister to Sudan – a son of Peintre Celebre who was successful in the Gran Premio di Milano in 2007 and ran third to Rail Link in the Grand Prix de Paris in the preceding year.

Princesse Ilia – bred by Hubert Honore out of Sarabande, a winning daughter of Woodman and Alcibiades Stakes scorer Special Happening – is trained by Sebastien Jesus for M'Hammed Karimine after being bought for €43,000 at the Arqana October Yearling Sale in 2018.

Another among the 16 runners for the Chantilly contest with an appealing pedigree is Trophy Again, trained by Yan Durepaire for owners and breeders the Wertheimer brothers.

Trophy Again is by Makfi out of Born Again, a Cape Cross half-sister to the great Goldikova, fellow Group 1 winner Galikova and multiple Group 1-placed Anodin. The dam has produced three winners from three runners.

Later in the day in Britain, Wolverhampton will be graced by the debut of a well-bred three-year-old son of Dubawi in the 12-furlong novice stakes at 7pm.

Godolphin homebred Regal Legacy, trained by Charlie Appleby, is a half-brother to Local Time, winner of the Oh So Sharp Stakes at two and the UAE 1,000 Guineas-Oaks double at three.

The only newcomer in the seven-strong field, he is out of Marie De Medici, a Listed-winning Medicean half-sister to Grand Prix de Paris and Canadian International hero Erupt, also by Dubawi.

It might be inferred that Regal Legacy has displayed a mind of his own at home, as he has been gelded before running and he sports cheekpieces for his debut.

He is one of two Godolphin-bred and owned sons of Dubawi trained by Appleby in the race along with Kingswear, a brother to the Queen's Hardwicke Stakes and Yorkshire Cup winner Dartmouth who finished fourth on debut at Kempton last month.
