Thomas Leffray joins Arqana in horses and training and jumps role
Irish National Stud breeding course graduate is the breeder of smart Allaho
Thomas Leffray has joined the bloodstock team at Arqana. He will be closely involved in the horses in training and National Hunt sectors.
The Irish National Stud breeding course graduate has plenty of experience in the industry, as well as with sales preparation.
He started out at Haras de Montaigu before moving to Haras d'Ombreville in Normandy and furthered his knowledge at Dromoland Farm in Kentucky and Ballylinch Stud in County Kilkenny.
Leffray then spent a year in Australasia, where he worked at Waikato Stud and Newgate Farm. Following his international experience, he settled in Ireland where he has been a stallion man at Coolmore since the start of the year.
Leffray has long been interested in jumps racing and is the owner of four broodmares, with the talented Allaho among the best horses he has bred with his father.
"I’m passionate about breeding and sales, and I'm delighted to join the Arqana team," said Leffray.
"My travels over the last few years and my training at the Irish National Stud have enabled me to participate in the biggest sales in the world and to deepen my knowledge of breeding.
"Joining the Arqana team is the logical next step for me and I'm very happy that this opportunity has presented itself.”
Arqana bloodstock director Ludovic Cornuel added: "We're delighted to welcome Thomas to the team. His many past experiences in France and abroad, as well as his good knowledge of sales, will enable him to adapt quickly and strengthen our team.
"Thomas will work in collaboration with Dominique Boulard on assembling the horses in training catalogues and will also be involved in the visits of young horses, particularly those in the National Hunt sphere.
"Thomas’s addition to the team demonstrates Arqana's commitment and its eternal quest to improve the quality of its service.”
