Romantic Time has completed a famous season for owner-breeder Elizabeth Haynes
Elizabeth Haynes’ racing experience is likely to eclipse that of the majority of readers, but there is always time for a new first.
The proprietress of Wretham Stud in Norfolk estimates that she has been owning horses for more than 70 years, and when Romantic Time caused a 28-1 surprise in the Dick Poole Fillies' Stakes at Salisbury in September, she believed it was the only time she had ever won a Group race with a two-year-old.
Combined with a couple more Newmarket prizes from reliable handicapper Final Watch, her pale yellow sashed silks have realised their most successful season for almost 20 years.
