Smart siblings catalogued in classy Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale
Event will be staged between August 23 and 24
Siblings to this season's Group-winning juveniles Bradsell and Isaac Shelby feature among 433 selected youngsters for for the 2022 Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale at Doncaster between August 23 and 24.
Isaac Shelby is the cover star of this year’s catalogue following his victory in the Group 2 Superlative Stakes and his Al Kazeem half-brother (lot 75) is one of those up for grabs alongside a Ulysses half-brother to this season’s Coventry Stakes winner Bradsell (213).
A total of 13 Premier graduates have won at stakes level so far this season including the El Caballo, whose streak extended to the Sandy Lane at Haydock and the catalogue will also feature his a Havana Grey half-sister (234).
All yearlings sold will be eligible for entry in next year’s £250,000 Harry Beeby Premier Yearling Stakes, which has been rebranded this year in honour of the company’s late chairman.
Other names to note include a Havana Grey filly out of the Lowther Stakes winner Infamous Angel (52), a Kodiac half-sister to Listed winners Darkanna and Logo Hunter (62), a Too Darn Hot three-parts brother to the Group 2 winner Aljamaaheer (74), a Zoustar colt out of the Group 3-winning Frankel mare Lightening Quick (97), a Showcasing filly out of the dual Group 3 winner Maureen (117) and a Kingman colt from the close family of Pedro The Great and Footstepsinthesand (187).
Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent said: “The Premier Sale has a long history of two-year-old success and the fact that it’s currently the leading sale this season thus far for two-year-old winners sold is a huge achievement given last year’s sale catalogued less than half that of some of the larger yearling sales on the calendar.
"That statistic clearly highlights Premier’s enduring reputation of producing early winners, and high-class ones at that headed by Isaac Shelby.
“The Doncaster yearling ethos has always been to focus on quality, precocity and athleticism and we have very much stayed true to that mantra when inspecting yearlings with our vendors and compiling this catalogue.
"The result is another selection of sharp, commercial two-year-old types of quality and we are looking forward to presenting the class of 22 to buyers.
"We have also amassed a strong representation from leading sires with yearlings by Frankel, Invincible Spirit, Kingman, Night Of Thunder and Wootton Bassett along with sizeable numbers from the likes of Dark Angel, Kodiac and Showcasing, ensuring plenty of quality across the two-days."
