Lumet Show to keep public auction format after positive feedback
The auction will be held on June 29
The positive reception to last year's Show Lumet - held as a public auction for the first time in association with Arqana - has led its organisers to maintain the format for this year's sale.
Once again sixty two- and three-year-olds, prepared by the Ecuries de la Ridaudiere, will be shown over hurdles in the morning and will be auctioned in the afternoon on June 29.
Since the auction began as a private sale in 2013, graduates have included the classy Lumet-bred jumper , who carries the colours of Simon Munir and Isaac Souede in France; , winner of a Listed chase at Auteuil in October; and Grade 3 hurdle winner .
Those to have crossed the Channel include the Richard Newland-trained Caid Du Lin, who claimed the scalp of Speredek in the Hurst Park Handicap Chase at Ascot in November, and , a game runner-up behind Elegant Escape in the Welsh Grand National in December.
David Lumet said: "We'd a lot of positive feedback from the new format of the Show last year, which reinforced our idea to continue in this direction.
"We've been very attentive to the feedback we've received, leading us to make several improvements, both in the selection, preparation and presentation of horses and in the facilities, for the comfort of everyone.
"We'll move a jump on the course or set up more places in the shade in case of high temperatures, for example. We've also moved the sale to Saturday so that as many people as possible can attend."
Conformation photos, videos of the jumping show and a live stream of the auction will be available on the France Sire website.
