Ruler Of The World relocated to Haras de Bouquetot for 2020
Derby hero is the sire of three-time Group 1 winner Iridessa
Derby hero Ruler Of The World, whose first crop of three-year-olds includes three-time Group 1 winner and Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf entrant Iridessa, is being relocated to Haras de Bouquetot in Normandy.
The impeccably-bred son of Galileo is owned jointly by Al Shaqab Racing – whose stallion operation is headquartered at Bouquetot – and Coolmore, where he has spent his first five seasons.
His introductory fee in France has been set at €6,000, live foal terms, and he will be available to view at Bouquetot during the Arqana December Sale.
Ruler Of The World was bred by Southern Bloodstock out of the outstanding producer Love Me True, a daughter of Kingmambo related to Grade 1 winners-turned-sires A.P. Indy, Lemon Drop Kid and Wolfhound. The mare is also responsible for champion Duke Of Marmalade and Irish Derby place-getters Giovanni Canaletto and Norway.
Trained by Aidan O'Brien, Ruler Of The World upheld family honour by winning the Derby, with Libertarian and Galileo Rock in arrears, and running a close third to Farhh and Cirrus Des Aigles in the Champion Stakes at the end of his three-year-old season. His best effort at four came with victory over Flintshire in the Prix Foy.
Ruler Of The World suffered an injury in his first year standing at Coolmore in 2015 and consequently has a relatively small debut crop of three-year-olds but they include Listed-placed The World Is Your and progressive handicapper Rock The Cradle – sold for 200,000gns at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale on Tuesday – as well as Iridessa, winner of the Fillies' Mile, Pretty Polly and Matron Stakes for Joseph O'Brien.
Stud manager Benoit Jeffroy said: “We're delighted to welcome a Derby winner by Galileo who is the sire of multiple Group 1 winner Iridessa from a very small first crop at Haras de Bouquetot.
“It’s a great opportunity for breeders to have access to a Group 1 producer by Galileo in France.”
