Quite a few well-bred two-year-olds are making a late introduction on the Polytrack on Wednesday but a runner for King Charles at Kempton would appear as interesting as any.

The royal colours are being carried in the second division of the Unibet Extra Place Offers Every Day EBF Novice Stakes by Strandonthegreen, who is a Zoffany half-brother to Pretty Gorgeous, who won the 2020 Fillies' Mile for Joseph O'Brien.

Strandonthegreen, bred by Frank Hutchinson, was actually knocked down to O'Brien for 235,000gns as a foal at Tattersalls but he was entered before being withdrawn at both Book 1 and this year's breeze-up at Arqana.

He is now under the King's ownership and is with Michael Bell, who has booked William Buick for the one-mile event in which Fair Dinkum, an Australia colt from one of Philippa Cooper's best families, and James Ferguson's Land Legend, a son of Galileo, are among the other newcomers.

One to note in the first division half an hour earlier is Star Ahoy, a Sea The Stars colt for Cheveley Park Stud. William Haggas will know the family well as he trained the full-brother Mutakayyef to back-to-back wins in the Summer Mile while their Frankel sister Veracious landed the Falmouth Stakes. The siblings are out of the Group 1-placed Infallible, from a choice Cheveley Park page.

Lingfield hosts two decent mile novice events for fillies and division one includes the Meon Valley Stud Frankel homebred Mistral Star. Her dam, the dual Oaks runner-up Shirocco Star, has produced both the Challenge Stakes winner Al Suhail and Telecaster, who landed the 2019 Dante.

Trainer Hughie Morrison also saddles Switchel, a Golden Horn sibling of Australian Group 1 winner and Sunnyhill Stud stallion Fifty Stars for Anthony Rogers in division two. Fleurir, a Justify filly owned by Koji Maeda, and the Dubawis Reflective Star and Tarjamah are other obvious points of reference.
