Prix Marcel Boussac third Flighty Lady in private sale to Peter Brant
Daughter of Sir Percy previously represented Paul Hancock and Gavin Hernon
Flighty Lady, a strong-finishing third to Albigna in the Prix Marcel Boussac for owner Paul Hancock and young trainer Gavin Hernon in October, has been bought privately by Peter Brant.
The daughter of Sir Percy has been transferred to Jean-Claude Rouget and will henceforth carry the two-tone green silks of Brant's White Birch Farm.
Hernon told Jour de Galop: “Flighty Lady left the yard two weeks ago. She had a very good two-year-old season and served us very well.
“She'll be much better over ten furlongs at three, and I hope she wins the Prix de Diane for her new connections.”
Flighty Lady won a seven-furlong Deauville maiden in August and subsequently took third in both the Group 3 Prix d'Aumale – beaten three quarters of a length – and the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac, in which she was three lengths adrift of Albigna at the post.
She was bred by Tally Ho Stud out of the unraced Dansili mare Airfield, a sister to Pattern winners Aviate and Early March, and hails from the family of Group/Grade 1 winners Al Bahathri, Gladiatorus, Haafhd, Havana Grey, Military Attack, Red Cadeaux and siblings Forever Together, Lord Shanakill and Together Forever.
Troy Steve Bloodstock signed for the filly at 21,000gns at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale last year.
Brant, who has Prix du Jockey Club hero and Arc third Sottsass in training with Rouget, has been a keen follower of French-trained fillies, having also moved to purchase the likes of Homerique, Precieuse and Sistercharlie.
