Order Of St George's first foal a 'tall, athletic filly just like her sire'
New arrival was bred by Will Kinsey of Peel Bloodstock
Order Of St George, a multiple Group 1-winning son of Galileo, sired his first foal when Cara's Way produced a filly on Monday night at Willow Wood Stud in Cheshire.
Cara's Way is a half-sister to black-type hurdlers Movewiththetimes - who was second to Ballyandy in the 2017 Betfair Hurdle - and Venture Capital, and shares her granddam Horner Water with the Grade 1 Clarence House Chase scorer Somersby.
"She's only a few hours old but looks a lovely, tall, athletic filly just like her sire," said breeder Will Kinsey of Peel Bloodstock. "We're very happy to have such a nice first foal."
Trained by Aidan O'Brien, Order Of St George was a champion at three, four and five winning a total of 11 races including the Irish St Leger as a three-year-old by a margin of 11 lengths, while his victory in the Ascot Gold Cup was recorded in a time over 11 seconds faster than Fame And Glory.
Order Of St George proved extremely popular with breeders last spring covering a top-class book of 275 mares in his first season, making him the joint busiest sire in Europe alongside fellow Coolmore National Hunt sire Soldier Of Fortune.
Among the accomplished mares in his book were Asian Maze, a four-time Grade 1 winner and dam of Cup Final; Pomme Tiepy, a Grade 2-winning chaser and dam of Grade 1-placed Mortal; Fashionista, the dam of Cheltenham Gold Cup victor Bobs Worth; Augest Weekend, the dam of Total Recall; and Norabelle, the dam of Invitation Only.
