Nominations to Overbury Stud's exciting sires Ardad and Jack Hobbs are among the auction lots for the Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) Racing to Cricket day on Sunday.

Taking place at Wormsley Cricket Ground, where eight racing teams will do battle to win the RoR Racing to Cricket trophy, a live auction and raffle will be held with charity auctioneer Martin Pope at 1.30pm. Bids in advance can be made up until 5pm on Saturday, September 3.

The prizes, which have been donated by trainers, owners and RoR supporters, includes nominations to Ardad, the sire of Commonwealth Cup winner Perfect Power and a leading second-season sire, and Jack Hobbs, already sire of winners on the Flat and an exciting National Hunt stallion.

A day trip to Newmarket for eight, with lunch and a visit to Banstead Manor Stud to meet Frankel is also among the lots, alongside a race sponsorship package at Stratford racecourse, a morning on the gallops with Richard Hannon and tickets for Badminton Horse Trials with an exclusive private stable tour.

Other highlights include membership of the Kingsclere Racing Club for 2023 and a share in the George Scott and Charlie Fellowes 'Off The Bridle' The Podcast Syndicate III.

Paul and Susan Roy have donated two Centre Court debenture tickets at next year's Wimbledon complete with a champagne lunch, there is the chance to win the exclusive use of a private box for 14 people at Ascot for a jumps or Flat meeting and Graham Smith-Bernal has donated a week's stay for ten people in a luxurious villa in Umbria, Italy, with its own six-hole golf course, tennis court and truffle woods.

Last year's event raised over £70,000 and money from this year's afternoon will be used to continue to fund the development of activities to support new owners and riders of former racehorses.

RoR chief executive Di Arbuthnot said: "We are so grateful for the generosity and support of donors, who have given us these wonderful auction lots. The success of the day is entirely down to the generosity of donors, as well as individuals and businesses which are enabling the charity chance to raise some valuable funds on the day."

Further information can be found by emailing rorauction@ror.org.uk. All bids must be received by email by 5pm on Saturday.
