Nathalie Albin-Jacobs announced as new chair of Newsells Park Stud

Nathalie Albin-Jacobs, youngest daughter of the late Klaus Jacobs, has taken over as a chair of Newsells Park Stud.

She succeeds Andreas Jacobs, who will remain on the board of directors of the operation near Royston in Hertfordshire. The stud has numerous high-class broodmares and is home to stallions Nathaniel and Equiano.

Newsells is owned by Jacobs Holdings, a Swiss-based investment firm, and the family also has studs at Gestut Fahrhof in Germany and Maine Chance in South Africa.

Newsells Park Stud has enjoyed a growing reputation as a thoroughbred nursery since its reformation in 2000, breeding or rearing 11 Group 1 winners since that time including the likes of Japan, Legatissimo, Masked Marvel and Waldgeist.

At the same time it has become an increasingly commercial force at the major European yearling sales. In 2013, Newsells Park set a new European record for the sale of a yearling colt, when the Galileo colt, subsequently named Sir Isaac Newton realised 3.6 million gns at the Tattersalls Book 1 Sale.

In 2018, its stock also set new benchmarks at Tattersalls with total aggregate sales in Book 1 of over 11 million gns and total sales at the October Sales of over £15 million.
