Magna Grecia's half-sister to make racecourse debut on Thursday
Galileo mare Cabaret has been centre stage through her exploits on the track and in the sales ring this year and she has one more chance to shine at Fontainebleu on Thursday.
A Group 3 winner on the Flat for Aidan O’Brien, she is now owned by the Australian Bob Scarborough, a former chairman of the Moonee Valley Racing Club.
Cabaret earned her greatest distinction yet in the spring when she became the dam of a Classic winner through Magna Grecia, who added the Qipco 2,000 Guineas to his Vertem Futurity title.
Scarborough had sold Coolmore’s latest stallion prospect to the partners for 340,000gns as a foal at Tattersalls but he was not as fortunate with the Kodiac filly now known as Koala, who was bought back as a yearling at Arqana.
He has kept the now two-year-old and sent her to Nicolas Clement, for whom she makes her debut in the nine-furlong Prix Biloe Joaillerie Monte-Carlo.
Coolmore came back in for Cabaret’s yearling colt by Siyouni, who was consigned by Norelands Stud at Book 1 and was picked up for 1,300,000gns by MV Magnier.
