Killarney's July meeting is one of the highlights of the summer and racegoers are in for a treat on the opening day with the debut of the most expensive colt sold in Ireland last year coming in the very first race today (5.15).

Hiawatha, named for the legendary Native American leader, is a Camelot full-brother to Luxembourg and represents the same Coolmore and Ballydoyle team as the Vertem Futurity winner.

Luxembourg had just won the Group 2 Beresford Stakes at the Curragh before his year-younger sibling sold for €1.2m at the Goffs Orby Sale to MV Magnier. That sum was significantly higher than the 150,000gns Magnier paid to acquire Luxembourg a year previously at Book 1.

Both colts were sold by The Castlebridge Consignment on behalf of breeder Ben Sangster. They are half-brothers to the Group 2 Mooresbridge Stakes winner Leo De Fury by Australia and to Sense Of Style, a daughter of Zoffany, who was second in the Listed Silken Glider Stakes and third in Leopardstown's Group 3 1,000 Guineas Trial.

Dam Attire was also bred by Sangster and has produced four winners from as many runners. She is a Danehill Dancer sister to Glorious Stakes and Wolferton Handicap winner Forgotten Voice and is also a half-sister to Group 3 Prix de Flore winner Australie, by Sadler's Wells, who is the dam of Listed winners Hawke and Mireille.

The family is an outstanding Wildenstein one; second dam Asnieres is a half-sister to Breeders' Cup Turf and Prix d'Ispahan winner Arcangues and to the Prix de Psyche winner and Poule d'Essai des Pouliches second Agathe who is the dam of champion Aquarelliste and Grade 1 winner Artiste Royale.

Attire has a yearling sister to Luxembourg and Hiawatha, who is one of five newcomers in the mile maiden.

Both of Tweenhills Farm's first season sires are represented in the contest with Joseph O'Brien unveiling Qatar Racing's Roaring Lion colt Valiant King. He is the second foal out of Assembly, a Candy Ride half-sister to Graded stakes winner Seismic Wave, and a daughter of Conference Call who was second in the Prix Marcel Boussac for owner-breeder Juddmonte Farms.

Zoustar is represented by Sea Spray from the Jessica Harrington yard and the 50,000gns yearling is the first foal out of Wingingit, a mare who was second in the Stanerra Stakes for Noel Meade and third in the Pontefract Castle Stakes when trained by Andrew Balding. A daughter of Helmet, she is out of Chirkova, a Sadler's Wells full-sister to Listed winner and Group 1 Preis von Europa second Poseidon Adventure.

Joseph O'Brien's other newcomer is the 165,000gns yearling MisterMister by Sea The Moon. Bred by his sire's owner-breeders Gestut Gorlsdorf, he was sold by Stauffenburg Bloodstock at Book 1 last year and is the first foal out of his winning dam Miss Germany.

She is a Lord Of England half-sister to Group 3 winner Matchwinner out of a Sadler's Wells full-sister to Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Saffron Walden. She is also a half-sister to Prix Maurice de Gheest and Prix de la Foret winner Dolphin Street and Insight, who won the EP Taylor Stakes and Prix de la Foret.

The final debutant in the field is Juddmonte's homebred Bated Breath colt Blazing Sunset. He is a half-brother to Listed Noblesse Stakes winner Heliac (by Champs Elysees) and their dam, Solar Pursuit, is a Galileo half-sister to Group/Grade 1 winners Polish Summer and Meteor Storm and to the dam of Group 1 winner Ice Breeze. It's also the family of Nassau Stakes winner Winsili.
