Lots to keep an eye on at the Goffs UK Breeze-Up Sale in Doncaster
Those offered include half-siblings to California Chrome and Cachet
Lot 34
Profitable - Lilyhammer (Cape Cross)
B c
Kildallan Farm
Kildallan Farm's son of Darley's second-season sire Profitable looks likely to appeal to buyers at the Goffs UK Breeze-Up Sale, being the first foal out of the Cape Cross mare Lilyhammer, a half-sister to British Champions Sprint Stakes hero Donjuan Triumphant and another black-type winner in Caledonian Spring.
The April-born colt can also count Listed winner and Prix du Jockey Club second Sestino among his relations under his fourth dam, while other notable names on the page include Prix Chloe scorer Wilside and the Listed-winning Grade 2-placed Round Heels, the pair coming under third dam Sigonella.
Lot 36
Accelerate - Love The Chase (Not For Love)
Ch c
Powerstown Stud
A fascinating lot fairly early on in the sale, this chestnut colt is none other than a half-brother to champion American older horse California Chrome, whose wins included the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, Dubai World Cup and Santa Anita Derby.
Offered by Powerstown Stud, lot 36 is out of the winning Not For Love mare Love The Chase, who has produced four winners from seven runners and is in turn a granddaughter of dual Listed winner Chase The Dream, the dam of four winners including the talented Amourette.
As the sole offering by Lane's End Farm's Breeders' Cup Classic hero, it will be interesting to see how this two-year-old gets on under the hammer.
Lot 69
Kuroshio - Poyle Sophie (Teofilo)
B f
Hyde Park Stud
Hyde Park Stud's filly will no doubt be on the shortlist of many after her half-sister Cachet's success in the Nell Gwyn Stakes this month, a deserved result after the daughter of Aclaim's placings in the Fillies' Mile, Rockfel Stakes and two Listed contests as a juvenile.
The pair are out of the placed Teofilo mare Poyle Sophie, while under the second dam is San Francisco Mile winner and the Grade 2-placed Whisper Not. Lowther Stakes heroine Jemima and multiple black-type winner English Colony are under the third dam, while readers will also be familiar with Leopardstown 2,000 Guineas Trial third Could Be King.
Lot 114
Kessaar - Tisa River (Equiano)
B c
Bansha House Stables
Tally-Ho Stud's first-season sire was off the mark with his first runner in the promising Tajalla, and his Bansha House Stables-offered son has the page to catch plenty of eyes at Doncaster this week.
The February-born colt is the first foal out of the placed Equiano mare Tisa River, herself a daughter of top-class producer Senta's Dream and therefore a half-sister to Breeders' Cup-winning pair Iridessa and Order Of Australia, as well as the ill-fated dual Grade 1 heroine Santa Barbara.
Quality is a theme of the page as the third dam is the outstanding Starine, who also struck at the Breeders' Cup in the Filly & Mare Turf, as well as in the Matriarch Stakes and Diana Handicap. This colt looks a potential top-notcher for his lucky buyer.
Lot 133
Kingman - Alexander Goldrun (Gold Away)
B c
Grove Stud
The son of the outstanding Kingman has a stallion's pedigree, being a son of champion older mare Alexander Goldrun and from a family full of black-type winners.
The colt's dam needs very little introduction as the winner of multiple Group 1 contests including the Nassau Stakes, two Pretty Polly Stakes and the Hong Kong Cup, but she is also the dam of dual Listed-winning Frankel filly Goldrush, who was also fourth in the Group 2 Ridgewood Pearl Stakes.
Alexander Goldrun is in turn of out the Listed-winning Darshaan mare Renashaan, meaning she is a half-sister to stakes winner and French 2,000 Guineas second Medecis and Foreign Legionary, the dam of Australian black-type victor Mantastic.
Lot 161
Dragon Pulse - Darwell (Zamindar)
Ch c
Tally-Ho Stud
Tally-Ho's outstanding run of breeding and/or producing and selling Group-winning breeze-up graduates has continued this spring with Greenham Stakes winner and runner-up Perfect Power and Lusail, as well as Prix Imprudence scorer Malavath, and the leading stud could play another big role here.
The son of Dragon Pulse is a half-brother to last season's Anglesey Stakes scorer Beauty Inspire - another who was offered by Tally-Ho but withdrawn at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-Up Sale - and from the family of Queen Mary Stakes third Ceedwell, so there is plenty of speed on the distaff side of the page.
Lot 182
Kodiac - Elkmait (Trade Fair)
B f
Tally-Ho Stud
A filly with plenty of long-term residual value, being a Kodiac half-sister to Grade 2 Appalachian Stakes heroine and Cheveley Park Stakes runner-up The Mackem Bullet, as well as three further winners including Lowther Stakes fourth She's So Nice.
Under the second dam is a host of Japanese Graded winners, including Grade 2 Keio Hai Spring Cup scorer Moonquake, Grade 3 winner and Yushun Himba third Bounce Shasse, and multiple Grade 3 winner Contra Check.
There is also the dual 2,000 Guineas-placed Stubbs Art, a triple-winning son of Hawk Wing, and the stakes-placed Japanese filly Floor Craft.
