Le Havre filly the pick of the Flat yearlings on final day of Autumn Sale

A filly by Le Havre out of the Italian Listed scorer Rivabella was the pick of the Flat yearlings offered on the third and final day of the Arqana Autumn Sale in Deauville on Wednesday.

Sent into the ring by La Motteraye Consignment, she caught the eye of Narvick International and De Burgh Equine at €45,000.

The February-foaled youngster was bred by Nadim Nasrallah and is the fifth registered foal out of the mare, who has so far produced three winners including the Le Havre filly's three-year-old full-brother Antheya.

There is strength in depth on the page as well, with Prix Jean Prat scorer Rouvres and Prix du Jockey Club runner-up Bubble Chic appearing underneath the fourth dam.

The most expensive colt to be offered on Wednesday was an Oasis Dream colt from the draft of Haras d'Haspel who found favour with Marc-Antoine Berghracht at €36,000.

Despite having been foaled in Ireland in March of last year, the youngster has been assimilated in France and is therefore eligible for owners' premiums.

The colt was bred in partnership by the vendor and Serge Boucheron, who is best known as the breeder of Prix Maurice de Gheest winner Signs Of Blessing, as well as the Listed winner Pretreville and promising Siyouni colt Golden Boy, a winner of a Deauville maiden on his most recent start.

The Oasis Dream colt boasts a strong pedigree, being out of Sayfoonisa, an unraced Azamour half-sister to the Prix d'Ispahan winner and sire Sageburg, who will relocate from Garryrichard Stud to Haras du Mont Goubert for the 2020 breeding season.

The third session concluded with 147 of the 176 lots on offer changing hands for total receipts of €1,182,500, up five per cent, and a healthy 84 per cent clearance rate, up six per cent.

That trade came at an average spend of €8,044, down two per cent, while the median rose by €500 to €6,500.

Of the 567 lots offered across the three days of this year's Autumn Sale, 465 found new homes at a total spend of €10,984,000 - up a whopping 42 per cent on 12 months ago - and an 82 per cent clearance rate.

The average rose by 30 per cent to €23,622, while the median increased by €2,000 to €11,000.
