Lady Eleanor hits the right note for the Hopper family at Yarmouth
Filly makes it six wins from six runners for broodmare Firenze
Lady Eleanor added another footnote to the enduring partnership between owner-breeders Jan and Peter Hopper and trainer James Fanshawe when breaking her duck at the third time of asking at Yarmouth.
Carrying the black, white and red Hopper silks, the three-year-old was making it a perfect six winners from as many progeny to have raced out of their dual stakes scorer Firenze.
That mare, who is now 19, is part of a terrific sprint family as her sister is the 2004 July Cup winner Frizzante. The siblings have both enjoyed plenty of success with Firenze already producing high-class handicapper Mazzini, who struck twice in Dubai last year.
Another of her sons is Harry’s Bar, who made great strides on the all-weather last winter and was not disgraced behind Judicial on his first try in Group company in last weekend’s Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle.

She made some progress in two late runs as a juvenile for Fanshawe but was a 25-1 chance for the Free Tips Daily On attheraces.com Fillies' Novice Stakes.
Daniel Muscutt had to duck and weave a little to find space before making good strides in the final furlong to pip Thowq and Quickstep Lady at the post.
"The yard have had a big association with the family going back quite a few years," the jockey told Sky Sports Racing. "She’s brought the promise that she had shown on the all-weather here today so I couldn’t be happier."
Firenze’s two-year-old, by Twilight Son, was sold to Rabbah Bloodstock for 50,000gns at Tattersalls Book 3, while she has a yearling colt by Bated Breath and most recently visited Harry Angel.
