Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale chock-a-block with quality

The ten-day sale includes broodmares, broodmare prospects and weanlings

Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale looks sure to go with a swing as mares in foal to some of the world's best sires and weanlings by established and first-crop stallions take centre stage during the ten-day sale.

Taking place from Wednesday, November 10, to Friday, November 19, the auction will also include the annual reduction of broodmares from prominent owners and breeders Gary and Mary West, as well as a single session dedicated to horses of racing age, which will be held on the final day.

A total of 3,888 horses - broodmares and broodmare prospects, weanlings, stallions and stallion prospects along with horses of racing age - have been entered.

Book 1 of the November Sale will include mares with recent page updates such as Hunter Valley Farm's Look Me Over, a half-sister to undefeated Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Corniche who is in foal to Kitten's Joy; Taylor Made Sales Agency's Charmaine’s Mia, a multiple Graded winner who finished third in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint; and Charge It Please, a half-sister to the Breeders’ Cup Sprint-placed Following Sea, who is in foal to Frosted.

The book also features Grade 1 winners Maxim Rate, as a racing or broodmare prospect (consigned by Eaton Sales); Oleksandra, who is carrying her first foal by Into Mischief (Bluewater Sales); amd Paris Lights, a racing or broodmare prospect who has been supplemented to the sale alongside Jazz Tune, the dam of 2021 Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity winner Rattle N Roll who is in foal to Liam’s Map.

The sale offers the first mares in foal to Kentucky Derby winner and Horse of the Year Authentic, as well as fellow promising young sires Game Winner, Improbable and Maximum Security; Kentucky Derby winner Country House; Preakness winner War Of Will and Belmont winner Tiz The Law.

Also among the covering sires in the catalogue are American Pharoah, Candy Ride, Caravaggio, City Of Light, Constitution, Curlin, Distorted Humor, Flatter, Frosted, Ghostzapper, Gun Runner, Into Mischief, Justify, Kantharos, Kitten’s Joy, Liam’s Map, Maclean’s Music, Medaglia D’Oro, More Than Ready, Munnings, No Nay Never, Not This Time, Nyquist, Omaha Beach, Quality Road, Speightstown, Street Sense, Tapit and Twirling.

Sires with their first weanlings in the catalogue include champions Mitole and Vino Rosso, along with Grade 1 winners Audible, Catholic Boy, Omaha Beach, Preservationist, World Of Trouble and Yoshida.

Keeneland will accept supplements for Book 1 until the auction begins and will continue to accept supplements to the horses of racing age section through mid-November.

The sale will be livestreamed on Keeneland.com, while online and phone bidding will again will be available.
