Kawida maintains Lanwades momentum in Montrose Stakes
Two-year-old filly is a new stakes scorer for stallion Sir Percy.
Sir Percy grabbed a piece of what has been a truly standout year for Kirsten Rausing's Lanwades Stud by winning the British Stallion Studs EBF Montrose Fillies' Stakes on home soil at Newmarket with Kawida.
The Pakenham family's Dewhurst and Derby winner has had a bit of a quiet season but this juvenile filly, very much a Lanwades product through-and-through, will give his supporters encouragement over the winter.
Second twice before winning at Haydock for Ed Walker, Kawida grabbed the lead close to the line in the one-mile event to deprive Gregorian filly Flash Betty of an 80-1 upset.

She is Sir Percy's 24th worldwide stakes winner, following the likes of top-level stars Sir John Hawkwood and Wake Forest. This season, he has been best represented by last year's St Leger runner-up Berkshire Rocco.
Kawida is out of one of Rausing's Archipenko mares, and his dam, Kandahari, is a half-sister to Lanwades-bred Australian sensation Zaaki.
Rausing's season has also included two Group 1s from Alpinista in Germany and the emergence of another leading two-year-old filly, Sandrine, who has won two Group races. Albaflora was narrowly denied by Eshaada in the Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes.
