Juddmonte's half-brother to Sangarius sold to stand in Uruguay
The four-year-old son of Frankel was a winner for Sir Michael Stoute
Hydros, a half-brother to Hampton Court Stakes scorer and new Santa Rita da Serra resident Sangarius, has been sold by Juddmonte to stand at Hugo Pereyra Cabral's Haras los Vikingos in Uruguay.
The son of Frankel had originally been entered in the Tattersalls Horses in Training Sale earlier this week, but was withdrawn to begin his second career as a stallion.
Lightly raced for Sir Michael Stoute, the four-year-old was second on debut to Magical Morning at Doncaster last June before shelving his maiden tag at Pontefract in October of that year. He raced twice more this year, including when finishing third in his penultimate start at Newmarket.
In a deal brokered by Felipe Lopes, Hydros will join his half-brother in standing at a South American stud. Another son of the dual world champion in Cunco, Frankel's first ever winner and scorer of Sandown's Classic Trial, stands at Haras Santa Monica in Chile.
He hails from one of Juddmonte's finest families, being the sixth foal out of Trojan Queen, a half-sister to the stakes winning Kingmambo mare Ideal World and Romantica, a daughter of Galileo who struck in the Prix Jean Romanet for Andre Fabre.
The trio are in turn out of Banks Hill, a multiple top-level winning daughter of Danehill and Juddmonte blue hen Hasili. Banks Hill is therefore a full-sister to the operation's brilliant stallion Dansili as well as dual American Grade 1 winner Cacique and the top-class pair of Champs Elysees and Intercontinental.
Banks Hill is also a half-sister to Beverly D and Matriarch Stakes heroine Heat Haze, the dam of the Juddmonte-bred Metropolitan Handicap victor Mirage Dancer and the Grade 1-placed Forge, and the Grade 3-winning Prix Saint-Alary third Deluxe.
