Micky Cleere's decision to send his Summer Front colt to the Arqana Breeze-Up Sale in Doncaster was rewarded in spades when Tadhg O'Shea and Michael Burke went to £120,000 to snap up the American-bred colt.

The County Tipperary-based Cleere, who set up MC Thoroughbreds last year, was seeing an excellent reward for his returns, particularly given the colt had failed to meet his reserve at $14,000 at last year's Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

He said: "I think he will [go back to America]. He's a lovely colt, we thought he'd make a few quid but obviously you're never sure. We're very happy with the result anyway.

"It's great to get this result, and we've got some lovely horses."

His £120,000 lot is out of a winning full-sister to Bigger Picture, winner of the Grade 1 United Nations Stakes and a handful of other Graded contests for Michael Maker and Three Diamonds Farm.

The colt can also count further top-level winners in Dancing Spree, Furlough and Fantastic Find among his family.

Among the operation's other results at Doncaster, the Kingman full-sister to Bell Rock also sold to O'Shea, Richard Ryan purchased the Churchill half-brother to the Listed-winning Sirici, while SackvilleDonald went to £70,000 to buy the New Bay colt out of the South African Group 3 scorer Olma.
