'It wasn't meant to be' - Winx misses to Snitzel and will be given year off
Champion mare produced her first live foal in October, a filly by Pierro

Champion mare Winx has missed to Arrowfield Stud sire Snitzel this breeding season and will not produce a foal in 2023.
The wondermare’s owners, the Tighe, Kepitis and Treweke families, announced the news in a statement via Twitter on Thursday.
Winx, who won a record 25 Group 1 races, produced her first live foal in October, a filly by Pierro, after her first foal by I Am Invincible was born deceased.
She was subsequently not covered in 2020 to recover from the loss.
The statement read: “It’s not the update we were hoping to provide, sadly it wasn’t meant to be this year for Winx and Snitzel. Winx is doing very well with her Pierro filly, and the decision has been made to give her this year off.”
